I met Andy Nulman once. We sat together at lunch with a table full of other people at an event. For some reason, dessert (a slice of cake) was already on the table when we sat down. No salad or bread rolls had even hit the radar yet. Without missing a cue, Andy pulled his slice of cake in front of himself and began eating. He suprised me. I have admired him ever since.
Andy writes Pow! Right Between the Eyes - a blog about suprise. He always makes me laugh and has some great insights. Here is a great post where he tells a tale about asking for what you want. Do you ask for what you want?
Andy is the co-founder of the Just For Laughs festival. Check out his blog, it will make you laugh .... and think.

Michael--
First of all, I appreciate your kind (I think) words about me and my lil' ol; blog.
Secondly, I am bummed that you have not been deluged with many more comments on this most intriguing of posts.
Thirdly, the reason for scarfing down the cake was that I needed the sugar rush prior to me delivering that speech at the prestigious Canadian Marketing Association, you know, the one where I had to follow Daniel Pink (!!!!).
And finally, now I know why the big spike in traffic yesterday and today.
Thanks again, and keep reading. You never know what I'll eat next...and when.
Andy,
Those were indeed kind comments. I will always remember the cake story. It was a pleasure meeting you and you gave one of the best speeches that day. The mexican nut dance is forever burned in my brain.
Keep up the great work on the blog. I love a suprise!
